Howard Lalli - President

As president of HL Strategy, I am keenly focused on creating value for our clients and on nurturing a positive work culture for our consultants. These dual objectives are inextricably linked.

Our clients benefit from responsive, invested, inspiring long-term strategic partners they can trust to produce high-quality work that drives their organizations forward.

Our senior consultants opt in to assignments that fuel their passions and collaborate with other experienced professionals in a drama-free, results-focused environment.

The result of this approach: 13 years of increased revenue, strengthened reputations, unwavering support, creative ideas, valuable connections, and impactful solutions.

Our Contacts are Your Contacts

Over the years, I have built a web of relationships in metro Atlanta, across Georgia, throughout the Southeast, and beyond. These relationships – colleagues, clients, community leaders, board members, journalists – and our ability to connect ideas and people are one of the biggest ways we provide value to clients.

Your Success is Our Success

There’s nothing more rewarding than our clients experiencing success and them acknowledging that, if not for our contribution, they might not have achieved their goal. Our greatest asset is a long list of clients who would absolutely swear by the work we do.

My Background

I spent the first decade of my career in media and publishing with editorial staff and leadership positions at The New Yorker, Vanity Fair, Talk, and Atlanta Magazine. I went on to become a senior vice president at Edelman, the world’s largest independent public relations agency, where I launched the Atlanta office’s issues and crisis practice and led communications for the redevelopment of Atlantic Steel into Atlantic Station.

The urban redevelopment work struck a chord and sent me on a trajectory of engagements tied to commercial real estate, economic and environmental sustainability, natural resources, and community relations. These areas formed the foundation of HL Strategy in 2007 and remain core to our business today through Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District, Trust for Public Land, Atlanta Regional Commission, Council for Quality Growth, Georgia Brownfield Association, and Georgia Forestry Foundation.

Over the years, our work has expanded to include manufacturing, education, housing, transportation, and logistics for additional clients including Shaw Industries, Clayton Homes, Patcraft, and Sizemore Group.

I am a graduate of Dickinson College, the Atlanta Regional Commission’s Regional Leadership Institute, and the Institute for Georgia Environmental Leadership for which I currently serve on the board.
